The primary goal of our department is to deliver high class teaching and conduct both basic and applied research in the field of biotechnology. We offer one core course, BTL 410 Introductory Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering in summer term of BS in Agriculture. A highly demanding graduate program, MS in Biotechnology has been launched since Summer Term/2011 from our department. A PhD program in Biotechnology will be launched in winter Term/2016.
We have three laboratories such as (name) with state of the art facilities for advanced research in Biotechnology. We have collaboration with local and international research groups. Both basic and applied research are carried out with local and international collaborators. We welcome any proposal from National and International researchers on any of the following topics of our interests:
Understanding biology of wheat blast pathogen Magnaporthe oryzae pathotype Triticum through genomics and postgenomics approaches
Development of blast resistant wheat variety using genome editing technology such as CRISPR/cas9
