Herbarium and herbal museum are parts of botanic garden where the plant materials are preserved for identification, nomenclature and morphological studies. However, maintenance of herbarium is laborious and vulnerable for long term preservation. Recently, digital herbarium is introduced and gaining prominence for easy use and maintenance. Additionally, digital herbariums along with database on plant characters are being used for quick identification of plants.
